Flat and round tips, across the working sizes
Five families cover the incisions made in a cataract or vitreoretinal list: entry, section enlargement, tunnel dissection, side-port and sclerotomy. Sizes below are blade dimensions; reference codes are ours and can be replaced with your own for private-label supply.
Keratome — Sharp
An angled, flat blade with a sharp bevel for clear corneal and limbal entry. The width of the blade sets the width of the incision, so the size is chosen to match the intended wound and the phaco instrumentation passing through it.

Crescent
A curved, bevel-up blade for lamellar dissection and scleral tunnel construction. The crescent profile lets the tunnel be raised in a controlled plane before the anterior chamber is entered.

Lance Tip
A symmetrical spear point that cuts on both edges, used for side-port and paracentesis entry. The angle governs how steeply the tip enters and how quickly the incision widens.

Frequently asked
How do I choose a keratome width?
Match the blade width to the incision the procedure needs — typically the width of the phaco sleeve or the IOL delivery cartridge being passed through it. Sharp keratomes cover 1.00–3.40 mm; blend keratomes cover 3.50–6.20 mm for manual small-incision and extracapsular work.
What is the difference between a crescent and a keratome?
A crescent is curved and bevel-up, used to dissect a lamellar plane and raise a scleral tunnel. A keratome is a flat angled blade that makes the entry itself.
Which MVR gauge do I need?
Match the gauge to your vitrectomy platform — 19 G (1.5 mm), 20 G (1.2 mm) and 24 G (0.8 mm) are stocked.
